A Screen Digest report indicates that the number of Blu-ray Discs purchased by consumers in France and Germany grew by 73% in 2009. While this proves that some consumers are switching purchases of video from DVD to BD, the momentum has not necessarily been maintained. |

Kasabian's artwork for their 2009 album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum has been voted the Best Album Artwork at the Shockwaves NME Awards. Winner of the Best DVD award went to The Mighty Boosh - Future Sailors. The awards ceremony took place last week at London's O2 Academy Brixton. |

English Heritage has announced that Abbey Road Studios have been recognised by Grade II listing. The studios were recently the subject of much debate and speculation when it was reported that the building was up for sale by EMI (now said to be not the case) and the UK public demanded that the iconic building be saved. |

Miyamoto (pictured) is the creative force behind some of the world's most popular and enduring video games, including Mario Bros, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Nintendogs and Wii Music. |
